Terms and conditions

We are Born London. You can contact us at any time by emailing hello@born.london. By engaging with, signing up to, purchasing or accessing any course or online content, you are agreeing to the following:

Payment terms

Your space on any course will be confirmed on receipt of full payment.

Travel beyond 30 minutes from SW6 2PQ is charged at £10 per half hour slot (in each direction). You are responsible for providing adequate parking, either on a driveway or street with a visitor permit. For local pay and display parking, the cost of this will be added to a final invoice.

Cancellations

We reserve the right to amend or cancel any course, dates, times or published prices.

The only circumstances under which a refund will be made is:

  • if you can provide a birth certificate to prove that your baby arrived before the first course session.

  • in the unlikely event that the course is cancelled by Born London.

If you want to rearrange sessions after they have been confirmed, we will make every effort to accommodate this but we can’t guarantee it will be possible.

Intellectual property

Any material included as part of this course and all rights worldwide (including intellectual property rights) relating thereto are the sole property of Born London or others from whom such rights may be derived (whether or not protected by trademark and copyright laws). It may not be used other than for the personal use of the participant without obtaining prior written permission. The participant agrees not to record the course or any part thereof.

Disclaimer

Techniques taught on this course are not a substitute for the advice of or the presence during birth or any part of pregnancy or labour of a qualified medical practitioner, midwife or obstetrician. It does not represent in fact or otherwise an alternative to appropriate medical care or for professional medical advice in any way shape or form.

Any questions or doubts that you have about the use of hypnobirthing by you or any third party in any part should be discussed by you with your medical caregiver and the safety of or the appropriateness of this course to you or any third party whom you represent should be confirmed with your medical care giver prior to undertaking the programme. If you have any concerns about your or your baby’s health or wellbeing, you should always contact your midwife or healthcare provider. Born London accepts no responsibility for injury caused by taking part in any of the course. We accept no responsibility for any of the decisions you make in regards to your pregnancy and birth.

Hypnobirthing is intended solely as an 'aid' to 'help' increase the comfort of labour and birth. This course is not in any way a guarantee or promise of expected, imagined or actual outcome of the labour or birth.

Participation in Born London courses in part or in total by any person or third party is undertaken with the understanding that no litigation or legal action whatsoever will be initiated or that no form of compensation, reimbursement or refund will be claimed or applied for at any time now or in the future against Helen Fairlie, Born London or its representatives under any circumstances whatsoever. In the event of a dispute, English law applies.

GDPR

Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area (‘EEA’), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

  • Your consent;

  • The performance of the contract between you and the Site;

  • Compliance with our legal obligations;

  • For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

By disclosing any personal information, the participant agrees that Helen Fairlie and Born London will hold your details on file and on computer and, in accordance with the GDPR Act 2018, you have the right to view, amend or delete your individual file by giving not less than seven days' written notice. We treat your personal data with the utmost care and keep only relevant information to process your booking and deliver the services you have paid for. We will not sell or give your information to a 3rd party.
